Did you know?
In the messages screen/app on your iPhone - going into any feed/message stream with a specific person or group, click Details in the upper right of the screen … from here, you can:
  1. Find all photos and videos you’ve sent to that specific person/group (wait just a second and they’ll appear below “Do Not Disturb” and under “Attachments”)
  2. “Send My Current Location” with them - it will give them a map pin of where you are
  3. “Share My Location” - they can follow you on your path, as you go, follows you continuously. This one can eat up some battery life, but sometimes it’s just worth it.

There is a Google Scholar Extension! Click the button and do your searches from there. The “overview” tab in the Chrome Web Store has some helpful info on ways to use it, such as finding citation format choices by pressing the quote button next to a listing. There are also some choices within the settings gear icon, i.e. search articles (include patents), search case law, results per page, where results open, a Bibliography manager and more. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-scholar-button/ldipcbpaocekfooobnbcddclnhejkcpn  Thank you +Alice Keeler +Google Chrome +Google for Education

What if?
Using a “Parking Lot” in your class - for “any questions that haven’t been answered or those that are off topic”? An idea I first saw in a post from @synergyse by +AaronSvoboda ... In the past, teachers used sticky notes to paste these in place, but now some options may be Padlet, TodaysMeet, Google Docs, Sheets or Classroom. His post is on “Google Apps and Formative Assessment”, if you would like to read more, go to https://www.synergyse.com/blog/google-apps-formative-assessment-eliciting-evidence/ @google @Padlet @TodaysMeet image: http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/view-image.php?image=94776&picture=parking-sign-on-building-side

Something to think about…
How Big is Your Brave? - a great tool by @jillianburkhart to help students be intentional in their thoughts, choices and how they treat others.

Creating a Brain-Friendly Enriched Classroom Environment - a nice, short article on +EdSurge by Erin Klein. Not all of this is within our power, depending upon the room/space you’ve been given...but it does provide some food for thought. A few of the highlights for me are: using as much natural light as possible, de-cluttering and less is more. PDF Split and PDF Merge  - these are free tools, but need to be downloaded (not an option for chromebooks). Nice post by +Jessica Johnston http://edtechchic.blogspot.com/2016/04/pdf-split-and-pdf-merge-when-you-need.html

Infographic of web tools & apps for students to “Show what they know”, spanning 11 categories - I first saw this on EdutechForTeachers, but created by Tony Vincent. http://learninginhand.com/blog/show-what-you-know-using-web-mobile-apps-infographic.html

Free Online Resources to Spark Creativity - from a post by +TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association), This expansive list has  the following headings:
  • type of media
  • description
  • link to site
  • sign in required
  • download required
  • sample media made from this site
  • tutorial

In Addition…
Digital Sticky Note - Coming soon! SeeNote is the sticky note of the future and now available for pre-order…$99. To see how it works… https://youtu.be/nJqSRz915vs

Patented Hail Protector System is an Automobile Hail Protection System “that largely eliminates damage to your car or truck from any size hail! It has all the design properties of a traditional car cover, but also stops hail.”  For around $350+ you can have this when a garage isn’t available...something to consider? With all of the storms lately, it is tempting! http://www.hailprotector.com/

To help protect your fabrics, try tossing your linens and clothes into the wash with a tablespoon of SALT. The chloride will help seal the color in and keep it looking fresher longer. It works for rugs, it works for scarves, it works for anything that's machine washable. +Apartment Therapy

Updated Laundry Symbols - it’s just handy to have around, also good for college students or others just learning … or those of us who’ve been doing it for a while, but need a little cheat sheet! https://evencki.com/blog/easy-laundry-guide-to-the-most-common-care-symbols/
