Did you know?
“There's no right way to solve it, but there's only one right answer.” Try out these interactive brain teasers from Google a Day with your class! Could be a great warmup or conversation starter...have the students share their method for finding their answer. This could be a wonderful time to improve their search skills and discuss credible sources. +Google for Education

Keyboard Shortcuts for Gmail - For those who like this sort of thing...it can save some time! I’ll put in one shortcut each week. For me, I only want one or two at a time until I get used to using them. If I see a list of them, I tend to just move on. I think I just get overwhelmed with the sheer number to remember. +Gmail
For any of these to work, you’ll need to have “Keyboard Shortcuts” enabled in your Gmail Settings. To do this:
  • in Gmail, click the Gear icon in the upper right area of your screen
  • choose Settings
  • in the General settings window/tab
  • scroll down until you see Keyboard Shortcuts off/on
  • choose Keyboard Shortcuts On
  • scroll to the top or bottom of that screen to Save
#1 - The C key opens up a new “compose” window. (Just the C key, no other keys needed)

What if?

Mobile Manners (7/8 of 10) ways to bring back phone etiquette and become more personal. I know I need reminders at times...this is one of my New Year’s Resolutions. I’ll include 2 each week for 5 weeks. Thank you +CyberWise1 http://www.cyberwise.org/#!10-Rules-for-Good-Phone-Manners-in-2016/c1aod/56a7c2750cf229630713ca99
7.  Don't leave someone on hold: If you say, "Hold on for a second," keep it just as that.  Our time is precious and we're all busy.

8.  It's okay to unplug: Be present in life, and live away from social media or texting.  It's okay to get bored once in awhile, it gives us time to think about our day, make plans, or maybe even read a book (remember those?).

In Addition…

How To Practice Mindfulness When You Don't Have The Time and why you need to - by Faisal Hoque. This is when/where the creativity and innovation happen! http://www.fastcompany.com/3056147/work-smart/how-to-practice-mindfulness-when-you-dont-have-the-time
"The mind is sharper and keener in seclusion and uninterrupted solitude. Originality thrives in seclusion free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind. Be alone—that is the secret of invention: Be alone, that is when ideas are born."    - Nikola Tesla

We Can’t Live Without Cosmos a well done short film nominated for a 2016 Academy Award in the animated short category. “It is about two friends who dream of going into space together. Even as they prepare for their high-tech journey, they embody old-fashioned, noble virtues: bravery, curiosity, strength, tenderness.”  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ClMGtB7yhc  Thank you SwissMiss
